I have a gas fireplace in my house that has a simple single pole switch on the wall to turn the flames on and off...
I am slightly baffled by how this works in the first place because it works even when the electricity is off to my house...?? ???
Anyway, I tried to replace the switch with a WS467 switch and it does not work...
Does the WS467 "need" power to operate ?? ???
Is it a LOW VOLTAGE wire ?? Like I said I really don't understand how this fireplace works... Is there a battery somewhere ?? ???
I touch the wires together and the flames come on, I disconnect the wires and the flames go off.
What X10 switch would work in this application ?? Maybe a UM506 (low voltage module) ???? ???
HELP !!!!

I have the same setup and eventually gave up. Never did find the answer, so I'm interested to know what you come up with if you find something.

Did you ever try a UM506 (low voltage) switch ??
I don't want to order one if it won't work... ::)

First, see the following thread (where we were trying to help ccrider67) as you will get most of the same questions and answers he did.
