Title: Horizontal Blinds
Post by: tsjoyce3 on March 22, 2007, 12:34:14 PM
I'm looking for an X10 device that controls horizontal blinds - the type that tilt with a wand.  It seems like I saw something a couple of years ago, but I haven't had any luck finding it.  I've seen several things that would work (drapery controls) if I had a chain rather than a wand.  If someone could point me in the right direction, I would certainly appreciate it.

Try AutomatedOutlet (http://www.automatedoutlet.com) I did see some modules for blind control there as well as a Remote Control Drapery Track (http://www.automatedoutlet.com/product.php?productid=733&cat=40) ! If you don't find what your looking for contact them as they deal with many manufactures and I'm sure if it exists they'll find it! ;)

I have done some researching myself for controlling horizontal window blinds. I think I may have found a retrofit solution. Although kinda pricey. Motor for blind is $80.00, battery pack = $20.00, IR remote $20.00. I have not made a purchase as of yet but called the company today to get pricing.  They carry battery operated window horizontal blind retrofit kits for tilt only control. You can control it via IR or radio (433 MHz.).  If I plunge in and make a purchase I'll be sure to post set up results with AHP and CM15. I have included the product links below.

Hope this helps.

Cheers ;D
