Title: 3 way companion switches work intermittently
Post by: rllewis on May 17, 2007, 02:37:24 PM
I have a number of x10 3 way dimmers (PLW02) and companion switches (PLW03). I'm using a remote control to control them.

The main modules work perfectly, as does the remote. The companion switches work sporadically.  If the light is on, they will always turn it off. If it is off, they only sometimes turn it on. Any help? I just installed them and they are controlling incandescent lights.

Usually that is a wiring issue. When I put in my hall switches, I trusted the wiring color. While that had always worked in the past, it didn't then. Go back and double check your wiring. Also search this forum, as your question has been asked before.

e.g. This is the reply I made before. (http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=11447.msg67549#msg67549)

My companion switches also work intermittently.

There It is some weird.  they work If you jiggle the switch a few times.  So they are wired correctly or they wouldn't work.  this is something I need help with.

Also a good reason to check wiring. A poor connection can cause that. Otherwise you may have a defective switch.
