I've been a system of 61-2681b's for my home office for some time now and on occasion they do not work. Have tried different channels and different outlets without anything working. Also some units turn on and off randomly for no particular reason despite having noone else in my home who uses them. Am using two 61-2677c for control units; one for A channel and another for B channel. Could using two be conflicting? Live in Indiana and have heard that state is prone to power spikes; which is why many computer stores recommend using surge protectors.

RS 61-2681b X10 Appliance Modules.
What type of loads are on them. Some Compact Fluorescent Lamps can trigger the Local Control and turn them back on when turned off.
Home office that has electronic things in it like computers etc.? Do you have any type of X10 filters in the mix?
I don't think the different channels should interfere with each other unless you tried both at the exact time.
