Title: HCUXE X10 HVAC Controller
Post by: cybertank on August 11, 2007, 10:50:57 PM
About 4 years ago I bought the HCUXE X10 HVAC system and for a while was controlling it via computer and a CM15A...  but tossed the old P3 that it was running on a while back.

I've just bough ActiveHome and was hoping it had the component for controlling the HVAC graphically but noticed it doesn't seem to have it in the list.

I can't remember the software I was using 4 years ago that happened to have the HCUXE graphically in it's software... can anyone tell me if there is an add-on for ActiveHome or if they can think of what the software needed is called?

Thanks in advance.

I did some searching.... it sounds (appears) to be a smarthome system (http://www.jclautomation.com/thermostat.asp)... could that be correct?

Are you sure it's HCUXE X10 HVAC system?  A search for it on 3 different search engines yielded nothing.   A search for X10 HVAC Control gave this: http://www.smarthome.com/3045.html   If you view the page, it says it's discontinued.  The fact it was a Smarthome product is why AHP won't recognize it. X10 USA doesn't sell anything like that.  You could try to see if AHP will address it with one of the various modules listed.

I found the proper model number for it... it appears that HCUXE is the RCS controller name which has been renamed.

The model is http://www.smarthome.com/3045B.html

I guess the question would be why ActiveHome doesn't have HVAC models anywhere in it's list.

I noticed HomeSeer seems to be the only software boasting this feature.

Anyone?

i use x10 to run my hvac, just no temperature readings on the computer.  i use smart macros and powerflash units for the conditional inputs and um506's to run actuation.

HomeSeer may be the only _Windows_ software which supports the RCS TXB16 Thermostat, but HEYU (for Linux, Unix, and Mac OS X) has full support for this device and is available at your favorite price.  See http://www.heyu.org
