I don't of, or have ever heard/read of anyway to remotely access X10 directly via the internet, without a computer in the mix. The computer control is software derived. However "phone control" was once popular.... although I know nothing about that.

As far as the computer.... for internet control. It doesn't have to be much of a computer. I have been working with controlling my HA using voice commands (http://davesdomainonline.com/bvc/bvc.htm) and have been able to do so with an old curb-side quality PC.

Correct. If you want to by-pass the computer to view your cameras on-line you will need an IP server (which is what your PC is doing) However there are devices that can do what you want (http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BLK-9100A-PLUS-N&cpc=SCH)(<click the link). I use an IP camera myself (as well as X10 cameras).

Wow, this is great, so if i understand it right, i would hook up the video receiver to this box and then the box to my Linksys router and i sould be in business.  I wuld then use the software with this box to then view the cameras and not use the Vanguard software or could you use that?

You are a great resource and for my first experince with X10, thisis turning out to be great as i learn how to do this.

Yeah... like my tag line says, this stuff is really only limited by imagination (and pocket depth). Glad you found the info helpful.

I don't know.... I don't own that particular IP server. I think... it shows (up to) four cams at the same time.
