Title: Lights Turn on at Random When Inlaws Visit!!!
Post by: vetterick on November 25, 2007, 10:31:01 AM
I've had AHP since it first came out, it's allways worked pretty good, with one problem though, wenever my inlaws plug in their motorhome I have a number of lights turning on at random.

While the motorhome does have some gadgets, everything appears to be RF and low voltage controlled.

AHP Activity Monitor dosn't catch these events, any ideas?

Thanks, Rick

Since it happens only when the in-laws visit, I suspect their motor home is the culprit.   There's something in the motor home's system that mimics X10 signals.  You need to find the power draw it has, so a X10 noise filter can be put on the circuit in your home it's plugged into.

Once you find out the motor home's power draw, you can shop for the right filter.

Thanks Dan, I see a 20A unit is available that should meet the need.

Thanks again, Rick ;D

It should cause no problem on your X10 system and provide X10 peace when the in-laws visit.  Make sure the filter is installed only on the circuit the motor home plugs into.
