Title: WS4777 Does Not Turn On Or Off Using the HR12A PalmPad
Post by: sgurusha on January 26, 2008, 01:53:42 PM
Currently I have two WS4777 installed in my house.  They were working with the HR12A Palmpad.  A few week later they stopped working.  I thought the switches went bad so a purchase new WS4777.  I installed then and the new ones are not responding the HR12A.  They work if I use switch but not by remote.  The HR12A does work with the lamp modules and the SPST units.

I changed the unit code of the WS4777 thinking that code was bad.  It still does not work.

Any suggestions on what could be wrong.

LMK.

Thanks.

The HR12A (aka Palmpad remote) sends radio signals.  The wall switch responds to power line signals.  What do you have that receives the radio signals and transceives them to the power line?

Anything new added to the home? Like maybe a new electronic device?
I would also say check the RF Receiving unit as Bill suggested.

Hi Bill:

Thanks for the replay.  I'm using the x10 TM751 unit.  Like I said the HR12A is working for the lamp modules and the single switch x10 units.  But not the 3-way switches.

If it is radio interference I would expect all units to be non functional with the HR12A.  In this case it is only the WS4777 (3 way switches).

LMK.

Thanks.

Do you have a Phase Coupler (http://kbase.x10.com/wiki/Phase_Coupling) in your setup?
Have you mapped your Electrical Circuits (http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=11117.msg63562#msg63562)?
Try moving your tm751 to other outlets! ;)
You most likely will need a coupler!  ;)

So, since everything else is working fine, and replacement modules didn't solve the problem, something else changed that is keeping the X10 signals from getting through the power lines to the switches.

Start by answering Brian H & Tuicemen's questions above.

It will probably be something simple, like a newly connected electrical device, a change to Compact Flourescent light bulbs, etc.

Let us know what you find.
