Title: New Setup
Post by: enlite on May 13, 2008, 10:28:38 AM
I plan on installing a few wall switches, appliance modules and light modules throughout my house.

If I get the active home unit, can I also still have the V572 RF Whole House Transceiver in my attic?

And would I need any additional transceivers throughout my home?

Yes. The AHP CM15A is also an all house code transceiver and also has an RF transmitter in it. The CM15A can be set to NOT transceive any codes in the hardware setup tab. It can use powerline codes or RF codes if received for triggers and macros if you set it up that way.
You mentioned Active Home. You are not talking the older serial only CM11A are you? If so it has no RF transceiver in it at all.

You might need a phase coupler, you can get them on eBay.com for less than 5 dollars if you do a good search or go to this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/X10-PHASE-COUPLER-FIX-INTERMITTENT-X10-PROBLEMS_W0QQitemZ160240934421QQihZ006QQcategoryZ40976QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I would do it even if you aren't having problems. Also look out for power line, line noise. I would try a cheep x10 transceiver before you go into the more expensive one. Have FUN!!!
