Title: How do you configure a PSC05 in ActiveHome Pro
Post by: tsegall on June 15, 2008, 06:36:06 PM
I can see a set of modules but I wish to configure a PSC05 (since I need to retrieve status information).

The  PSC05 is not listed in AHP 3.228, so you may have to use the closest one in the PRO Modules list and see if AHP will address it.  Be sure to label is as a PSC05 so you know what it is.

So I tried that - or at least I thought I did.  I actually tried a 'PRO 2-way Tranceiver Module' (PAT01).  This worked for turning the thing plugged into my PSC05 off and on, but did not give me status.

I am not sure what gadget I should select to actually get the PSC05 to respond to a status request.

The PAT01 is a RF transceiver.  That is not the same as the TW523/PSC05, which is a 2-way powerline interface for OEM equipment.

The TW523/PSC05 doesn't have any internal smarts to respond to a status request.  Basically, the TW523/PSC05 just converts back and forth between 120KHz bursts sent over the powerline and the digital bits used to communicate with the OEM equipment.  The TW523/PSC05 would relay a status request to that OEM unit, and it is up to that unit to return a status report back through the TW523/PSC05.
