Title: Control multiple house codes ?

Hi all,
I'm back for a short while as I'm still very much involved with my Veterans group.
Hopefully we will get some issues resolved at which time "I shall return" (Douglas MacArthur).

Anyway, does anyone have a setup that uses 1 remote to control multiple house codes?
If so, please reply with as much info as possible.

Not sure this is what you have in mind, but using AHP, I created a "Room" for my HR12A (aka Palm Pad) remote which is set to House Code H.  In that room I created macros for H1-H16 on and off.  That way I can simply edit say the macro for "H1 On" and have the macro send say "L1 On" (which is my living room lamp).

Effectively the macros "translate" any button to any House Code / Unit Code / State combination you like!

Thanks for your reply. I am looking for more of a physical solution.
I was thinking more along the lines of using an "Intelligent" remote and a IR/RF converter.
Along the lines of using something like a IR543 & maybe a Philips Pronto (TSU9600 $666 to $1,300, TSU9400 $536 to $787).
I believe something like that could/would work ???
However prices like those are well beyond what I can afford.
I'm looking for a solution that's affordable by someone on a fixed income.
Any ideas ???

Duck With a "IR Mini Controller" and the IR10A you can control multiple house codes. Also X10 has announced a new version of the IR10A that will be able to transmit RF, but it (IR27A) isn't shipping yet.

It's still in beta testing but it is worth waiting for. It could be the one remote to rule them all.

Being a retiree myself.... I think I understand the "fixed income". But thanks to -Bill- (of wgjohns.com) I have a VERY advanced yet VERY affordable Home Automation solution. I use BVC (http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=15753.0) (Bill's Voice Commander (http://www.wgjohns.com/bvc.htm)) along with AHP. Before you discard the idea.... check out my BVC Fan Site (http://www.davesdomainonline.com/bvc/bvc.htm).

As some others have stated, wait for the release of the IR27A!

Meanwhile, get yourself a cheap "all House Code" RF to PLC transceiver.

It WILL be worth the wait!   ;)

From reading the starting post - If you already have AHP and a CM15a, and do not have range issues, just tell the CM15 to transceive whatever additional HC's you want, then use the PalmPad.

If you do have that setup and if you do have range problems, you could try a SR73a (Smart Repeater) that repeats all RF.  They're about $50 on eBay.

If you don't have AHP and a CM15a, you can get the setup from x10 for $50 (and free shipping) - make sure you talk to the order people and get AHP with all 4 plugins (even if you don't need them - just install what you need) and the CM15a.

Or you can buy multiple RR501's (3-pak on eBay for $25) - one for each HC you want.  (the 501's are polite, the 751's aren't)

Or, you can get a V572RF32 ($100 @wglDesigns.com) - and if you do make sure you get this part number/kit - has everything and transceives all Housecodes and security devices.  (We're currently working an issue with an rogue repeated A1 signal - but other than that, it receives all RF and converts to PLCs - and it's software lets you include/exclude any/all HC's)

I might not have expressed what I want properly.
So, let me try again.

I want to sit back in my easy chair with 1 and only 1 remote control.
I want the remote to be able to send 3 different house code signals, without me having to turn dials and the like.

Hey Duck69, as was mentioned in one of the posts above, there is a new all house code remote that is currently in Beta test. I am sure this remote will be compatible with your signature .  ;)

I am not aware of any other available RF remote that is multi-house code.

Well, Bill was right, wait for the IR27A, or write macros.  Of course with the palmpad you'll only have 8 devices unless the effort to slide a switch isn't too taxing on you -then you'd get 16.  Although, if you use the top 1½ sets(the first 3 physical buttons) to flip flags to indicate  FLAGS which of the 3 housecodes you want, you'd be left with 6 devices x 3 on the 1-8 panel (18 devices), and if you could manage a slide to 9-16, you'd have 27 more.

I agree that if you can wait a bit the new RF remote will be the way to go. I don't know how long a wait you will have but it will be well worth it.  :)%

Still in Beta.

Beta testing went into a one month hibernation back in late summer due to X10 working on a "big project", maybe that is happening again.
