Sorry if this is old news, or posted in the incorrect section, buuuuut
I tried searching the forum, and the web, but had no luck.
I have had the black pyramid shaped X10 IR Remote Extender for several months and have had zero complaints.
Yesterday, the dog got tangled in the cord and pulled the receiving unit (with the antennae) down and the plastic cover popped off.
I popped it right back on, but now its red LED light sort of slowly pulses on and off every 5 seconds or so.
I actually had the thing working last night temporarily, but today, back to walking into the bedroom to change the channel.
The two units are only about 20-25 feet apart, with one uninsulated wall in between them
Any ideas? Or do you think I just got screwed when it fell and I need to replace it?

Hard to say without looking at it.
If it's under warranty, I would follow that trail.
If not, and without electronic repair inclinations, you'll 'prolly need to buy another one.
Oh and the dog needs to go..... :(

Sounds like the fall broke something. What ever is loose or making a bad connection was temporarily connected again when it worked for a short time.
New one maybe needed unless you have a friend that maybe electronically handy.
