Title: Plug In Phase Coupler
Post by: jskx on September 19, 2008, 04:02:04 PM
I would like to get a plug in phase coupler, and after doing ome research I found that Smarthome is offering a coupler for $29.99.  I also found another company, Corinex, that has a similar phase coupler for a lower price, and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Corinex products?  Do you know if the Corinex phase coupler is compatible with X10 devices?

Thank you,

The Corinex coupler seems to be primarily designed to support their own product line, but it also provides coupling in the X10 and Insteon bands.  Their data shows a significant improvement in coupling at 9MHz, but it is not clear how well that unit works for 120KHz X10 signals.   The narrow band couplers designed for X10 and Insteon bands do work very well.

Thank you very much for the information.  I guess I'll stick with the Smarthome phase coupler.
