Title: File size? Puck?
Post by: PajamaGuy on December 01, 2008, 08:33:39 AM
I have my system's documentation to a point where I'd like to share it, but it's an 87k .doc file, and I get an error that there's a 140k limit? and it won't upload as an attachment?

Help?

A Yahoo Geocities account works great for holding files/pictures/documents that can be linked to in a post; and it's free.

I don't know what the limit of the forum uploads are, but I do know it sometimes has a problem with uploading anything.

I noticed a problem with posting attachments last week!
I sent an E-mail off to X10 to have an IT guy look into it but since it was a short week for most in the U.S.A. it looks like it was put to the back burner!
I just checked the attachment directory for Free space and it is saying there is 0.32 KB of free space !
So either the community has to look at and decide what attachments are necessary or X10 needs to increase the size of the attachment directory!
I'll send off another e-mail today to see if a fire can be set under an IT guys butt rofl

Thanks!  I'm sure it will be appreciated!

No joy - I wrote it in Word 2007 (.docx) at 80k, a save-as to Word 2003 blows up the file to almost 300k.  I'll just wait until they accept .docx.

Thanks!

Don't count on X10 changing the allowed file types!
Allowed file types: txt, doc, pdf, jpg, gif, mpg, png
Maximum attachment size allowed: 128 KB, per post: 4

Rename your file to one of the allowed and specify what to rename it to after  one downloads it!
The file attachment folder was fixed yesterday !
The forum software was configured to only allow a TOTAL of 20M worth of attachments for all posts.  It has been increased to 2G (16777216KB).
