Gent's I'm new to this forum and I searched but can't find anything regarding a strange problem I have with my xps3.. This is my first x10 project and as simple as it seems it is eating my lunch.. I have installed a XPS3 in a existing 3 way switch configuration with the slave switch xpss... From the switch it turns on and off as indicated, from the slave it only turns off the light that's not a biggy for me because I don't even manual use the slave. I hooked up a ms14a x10 motion sensor and the rr501 transceiver with a small lamp connected just to verify everything is working correctly. House code and unit code are default A1 on all items.. when I press the test switch on the motion sensor everything appears to work the little lamp turns on and my hall light lights. I press the off switch and everything shuts off. The lamp module works everytime as expected but the hall light with the xps3 receives the x10 signal the led flashes twice and you hear the relay but the lights don't come on, a minute later you here the xps3 receiving x10 off command flashing twice and the relay but the light never turned on so it doesn't matter. maybe 10 minutes later someone will walk in the hall and it will work correctly, LED lights you hear the relay and it lights and shuts off correctly. When it doesn't work you see the led flash twice and hear the relay twice but no light.. The xps3 works everytime from it's switch..
Thanks in advance Jim

The fact that the slave switch only turns the switch off. My indicate the wiring may have a problem. You may want to go to the X10Pro site and check the latest users installation sheets. I know they where recently updated and may have more data.

Is the XPS3 also set to A1? Most motion sensore have a dusk dawn address that is the motion address +1. So A1 would have a dusk dawn of A2. When it see darkness it sends a A2 On and when light an A2 Off. In some cases we have seen where the dusk dawn addressed light was shining on the sensor and cycling on and off. :'

Thanks Brian for your help I'm making progress, my hall light is a 3 bulb light that's on the ceiling I recently changed all my incandescent lighting to fluorescent lighting, So reading here how much noise they produce I removed 2 bulbs and the relay trips and the light responds correctly 99% of the time and it clicks once. It miss fired 3 times since yesterday and every time you hear the relay click TWICE.. I think a noise filter is in order. I still need to resolve the slave switch issue of not turning on the light shouldn't be to bad.
