Title: Use of X10 Modules in Europe, is it possible?
Post by: eek72 on December 29, 2008, 01:24:34 PM
Hi All,

Maybe a noob question, but I have the following questions?

Will some X10 US modules like MS13 work in Europe or does it sent a different RF code towards the CM15PRO (And not the CM15A USA version)?
I'm aware of the voltage difference of 110 and 220V, but could I use the US X10 Devices with a power converter (I use a lot of power converters, going from 110 to 220 V) But will it mess up the X10 signals?
Where can I buy a US version of the AHP software & the OnAlert plug in? Here in the Netherlands I can only buy the Europe version of AHP which does not support plugins :(
I hope somebody could give me a clear answer?

Thanks in advance!

Pierre

The RF frequency used by the remotes and motion sensors. Is different between the US and European Version.
Some power converters will kill the X10 power line signals. So some may work and some may not.
I have seen mods to change the US 120 Volt Modules to 220 Volts; by changing a few components on the PC Board inside. Warranty is void at that point.

Hi All,

I'm also curious about USA ActivhomePro + OnAlert. Is it possible to operate with CM15Pro Europe version. If it's so you will be able to use OnAlert Plugin funcionality and add some security sensors to your Home automation.

Pls give us some expert feedback

Thanks,

I know the EU version will work with the CM15A how ever I don't have a CM15e to test with the American AHP! :(
You cah get the AHP (US version 3.236) (http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/ahp_updt_236.exe) and over wright the EU version to test!
However do back up your AHX file as doing this will corrupt it!
Also EU modules aren't seen in the US version so you'll need to rebuild a new AHX file!
