I've noticed that when the X10 Device Network Service (X10nets.exe) is running it grabs control of the COM port on my computer. I can think of no reason for it to do this unless it's looking for a serial device to use. I know AHP doesn't support the CM11A, but can it be configured to use the CM17A Firecracker interface? I'm looking for an interface I can use from the PC all of the time. I have to load up and then move my CM15A AHP interface out reach of a USB connection in order to get good overall house coverage but would still like to control some lights from the PC.

I really.. don't think... AHP supports the old firecracker (CM17A) however... it does support the newer mouse-like CM19A just fine.

You are correct Dave_x10_L alltough I've never tested it with AHP just its SDK!
kramsay the reason the X10Nets grabs the comport is so the firecracker software can function!
You could run the CM17A and its signals will be seen by the CM15A however not using AHP! :( There are however some very good thirdparty software apps out there which will provide many more options then available with the firecracker software and will utilize the CM17A!

Actually it was kramsay's post that inspired me to test the newer firecracker (CM19A).... so I loaded AHP onto my laptop and gave it a test spin using BVC.
