Yes cool but it might be cheaper to just buy a TV big enough for everyone in the room to see it.

Says: Fits most flat panel displays with an outside width of 40" - 63"
Sounds big enough for me!

I guess my real point was if you have a screen that is big enough why do you need to move it? Do LCD TVs have that narrow an angle of view?
-
Yea but with today's open floor plans .you could move it to watch from the kitchen or if your the only on watching and your in your lazyboy you could center on you and know one else. My bed room TV is mounted on a unit like this but not powered...so I can move it while I'm in bed and also the wife can swing it around when she is running on the treadmill.

No... CD TV's have a really [wide] nice angle of view. Actually.. I think everything has a wider angle of view than a traditional tube TV. But the old tube TV's were so heavy and cumbersome we often didn't even think to turn them for a better/fuller view. Often we just tolerated a bad angle.. or even sun on the screen because turning the TV was such a hassle. The new 42 inch, 35 pound LCD's (mine) just helps to change the mind set of set-it-and-forget-it.
I like the idea of a motorized mount.
Now if we can get it to face-track automatically.... and only recognize MY face.

Don't get me wrong. I think it would be cool also. I was just questioning the cost/value factor.
As a side note, if Dave got one how long would you bet it would take for him to post a YouTube video of it under voice control via BVC? ;D

You got that right: TV... return to center position.
But you know... you were using BVC (http://davesdomainonline.com/bvc/bvc.htm) to tell your cameras where to go ahead of me. I had to buy a Ninja, and then modify the internal antenna on my CM15A. But now my cameras scan on command (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gknj0cJkerA) too.

I figure you'd have it automatically face your chair when you sat down as well. :D

Well a lot can be done with a simple (automated) chair (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7szRtNQIxo4). But again... notice the video's credits.... a concept by steven r (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7szRtNQIxo4).
But.... I've been nagging Bill about adding face recognition to BVC (http://davesdomainonline.com/bvc/bvc.htm)
