Title: Can the DS10A "talk" to the TM751 ?

Hey guys,

Quick question :

Can the DS10A door/window sensor "talk" with the TM751 transceiver module ?

In other words, can the TM751 "capture" the DS10A RF signal, and then trigger a PLC in the power line (and use this to trigger a macro in AHP) ?

The quick answer is: No.
The DS10A uses a "security" type RF transmission that is not seen by standard x10 transceivers (tm751, rr501).
Now, I'm sure that others who have that WGL thing, will chime in for the long answer.

(As Knightrider said...NO.)  However... that's OK. AHP (comes with and) works with the CM15A interface, and now comes with the full suite of software. This includes the OnAlert software which allows the CM15A to hear security devices like the DS10A. TM751 transceivers don't play well with the CM15A anyway.

So... if you want a macro based on a DS10A. Just buy AHP with the suite of software [including OnAlert] and the CM15A ($50... all the time). NOTE:  OnAlert does require the PC to be ON, and connected to the CM15A, for the macro(s) to work.

Gringler:  From your post, it appears you already have AHP. One might infer that you're having a range issue if you want the TM751 to "relay" the signal to AHP.  As Dave said, if you don't already have a CM15A, spend the $50 and get the whole thing (AHP, 4 Plug-In's, and a CM15A)  If you have all that and range IS the problem, you can either do one of the CM15A range mods (I like the "F" Connector one), or you can get a SR731 "Smart" Repeater (under $50) that does re-transmit all of the X10 RF.

Or, you can get one of WGL Designs V572RF32's ($114) Whole-House Transceivers which will receive the RF from the security sensors and convert those signals to any of the 256 PLC's you desire.  Those PLCs can be picked up directly by a module, or by the CM15A and a macro in AHP. 

I have all of the above and highly recommend the V572RF32 - it's range covers my whole property.

Thank-you PajamaGuy. Although I have read many great things about the V572RF32... and often wish I'd just jumped in with one of those myself... I don't own one. I don't feel like I should be the person recommending a device I don't have... but I am glad you posted.
