Title: CP250 Powerhouse Newbie Questions
Post by: jimarnett on February 24, 2009, 07:10:35 AM
Hi Folks,

I've been asked by a charity to program electric light controls in a 'group home'.

They gave me a CP250 Powerhouse, a users' manual, and not much else.

Obviously I need to download some software, but I do not see "Powerhouse" anywhere on this site.

Could someone please give me a place to start, and maybe some other relevant information?

I do have programming experience, but (obviously) not with X-10.

THANKS!!!

The CP290 is ancient (mid 1980's) and used DOS based software. It looks like there might be some Windows based 3rd party software here. http://www.x10.com/products/x10_xw618.htm

OR Google "CP290 software" (not CP250).

Finding Windows based software for the CP290 is an impossibility in the 21st Century.  The last shareware software for Window 3.1 and 95 was 13-15 years in the past, and one of the best (don't remember the name) allowed you to use custom icons for your modules, but the author passed away in 1994.

Thanks Folks,

Might there be Mac software still around?

Same problem.  Since the CP290 is 1980's, software for it is like hen's teeth.
