Title: Running a windows command

Need some help here just to dbl check. Do you have to have AHP running on the pc if you want a macro to work that states "Macro must be run from PC" ??

I always have my CM15a hooked to the pc and the pc runs 24/7, but I do not run AHP 24/7.

Yes AHP must run the macro as it is not a windows or even DOS macro but an AHP macro.

Thanks for clearing that up for me......I have been having trouble with some of my macros that all execute a windows command (.bat files in this case) They would work most of the time when I had AHP open and did the "run macro"  but not always and they never would work when AHP was closed. These are alarm macros that turn on floodlights and start some IP cameras to record.....SO its not like they have had to run....YET  ;D  After further reading I see there is a bug in AHP that loses it macros window commands on a reboot. So I made the script file like Tuiceman did in his post and we will see how it goes.

I read somewhere here that some versions of AHP fail to execute .bat files all the time and that the cure was to turn them into .exe files via bat2exe.

Actually the Windows command bug is long standing I posted a workaround Here (http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=15010.0) with a step by step walk threw!

Thanks Tuiceman, Your guide has made my macros run perfect ever since. And, I might add... that will be a very handy little program to have in the future  :)%
