Hi,

I use mini timer, now ActiveHome interface to control several lights and appliances by time evevts. Sometimes the trigger got missed. Unlike manual control, I can push the button second time, if the first one didn't go through. Timer only send the trigger once. Can anyone tell me how long of the trigger train signal does timer send out? I have two other devices are sending code through the power line, which are using 140 kHz and 4-21 MHz. I don't think they are interfering with X-10 (120 KHz), but they are considered to be the noises to X-10. Does anyone have good suggestions? I hope X-10 has narrowband filter, which only allow 120 KHz pass to the receiver.

I doubt X10 has any bandpass filtering at all in their modules. Both the 140KHz and the 4-21 MHz signal could be a problem. The 140 KHz would be more suspect.
Good Troubleshooting data here and you sound like you have some technical experiences so this maybe a real help.

You mentioned Active Home. Are you using the older CM11A Serial Controller and Active Home Software or the CM15A USB Controller and Active Home Pro Software?

Any filters on known problem devices?
Any Phase coupling or repeater between the phases?

Hi Brain,

My ActiveHome was purchased last week. I have phase coupler and no filter. 140KHz signal is carrier of the communication code between my solar panel and Enlighten monitoring box, so it's important to operate.

Hi,

Since manual control always works, so I thought the problem might be the momentary issue. I am thinking to set  multiple timers, which will be 1 minute apart to increase the possibilities. Is this a good idea?

Hi Brian,

I have a question about multiple timers by using CM15A. I made five timer programs for my front door light, which all turn on at DUSK, but turn off at different time (one minute apart). Can I put delay at DUSK? How does CM15A operate during the ON events? Are there signal collisions, if all program have same ON time?
