Hello
The door frame is curved. How do I install the door sensor? I'm guessing use some kind of padding material and glue it to the door frame ? Any advice ?
thnx

The trim around some of my doors and windows also "gets in the way" of my magnetic reed switches. The local [national chain store] building supply store sells both wood and vinyl trim "by the foot". The white vinyl trim they sell is a nice match to the white plastic magnetic reed switches. It's very easy to cut and shape to fit odd areas.. and to make spacers.

I've always used these kind on my Ademco alarm system.

You drill a 3/4" hole and recess them into the frame and the door. You could cut the wires on the X10 sensor and wire this one up and fish the wire in wall.

One approach (which is however not esthetically pleasing) is to crack open the magnet assembly (the part without the wires) and remove the magnet. Cut a short groove in the door frame molding and putty in (and paint over) the magnet, then mount the switch and transmitter on the door itself.
