Title: HVAC with heat pump for vacation home
Post by: bluechipjr on November 18, 2009, 10:03:31 PM
Is there a SAFE controller that will power the heat pump on via telephone command? We will leave the thermostat pre-set to desired temp.
We currently turn the hvac off at the circuit breaker. Can the breaker be left on and use a controller to turn on the hvac?
Thanks!

Turning on and off devices by phone is a simple matter!
As you have found out finding the right controller is hard to locate!
Check Automated Outlet (http://automatedoutlet.com) they carry a vast amount of controllers for many different systems!
You may even wish to just look at some of the many different controlable thermostats ;)
I'm sure their helpful staff can point you in the right direction!

Smarthome.com has this gizmo.

This is the telephone interface, You would also need a Venstar Heat Pump Thermostat.
