Title: Weather resistant
Post by: Bill59 on December 31, 2009, 07:29:51 AM
Happy New Year everyone!!!!

How weather resistant are the active eye motion sensors? Its seems when they get wet they are not very reliable. Anyone else seen this?  One other question for everybody, what is the most popular brand of battery you use in your equipment?

I have several of them outside in a semi protected environment (under roof overhangs, etc.) and have had no problems with moisture. If you have them unprotected outside in the rain, make sure the rubber "O" ring on the battery door does not get twisted when you install the door.  You could try putting a thin smear of silicone rubber sealent around the back seam of the case and over the rubber stopper for the delay setting, but normally that isn't needed. Could you have a condensation problem?

Premium alkaline batteries (Duracell, Ever Ready, etc) will give about a year of service in most conditions. Extreame cold would warrent lithium AAA's
