Title: Active HomePro Software - Do I Have to Buy?

Hello All:

New to the X10 community just bought my 1st camera package with a usb to video adapter and vanguard software to watch camera on my pc.  I have the vanguard software, but I am looking to expand my x10 equipment so I am thinking about getting ActiveHome Pro. 

My question is do I have to buy it for $49.99 or can i donload the most stable version from somewehre else?

Active Home Pro includes then PC interface CM15A
A CM19 will work with it although very limited.
You might be able to do your home automation with a thirdparty software which may be even more stable. ;)

Any suggestions  other than Vanguard.  thanks for any leads.

What are you looking at doing and what video adaptor are you using?
