Title: VA12A problem with AHP 3.228
Post by: birdzeye on January 11, 2010, 02:28:17 PM
I can't see any picture with the VA12A and AHP 3.228. I have installed the new driver for the VA12A and have tried it in several different locations in Device Manager and it still won't work. The best I've had it is with horizontal lines running across the iWitness image viewer. How do I get VA12A to work with AHP 3.228-----is there an update?

I know the VA12A is working because I have VAnguard installed on a Laptop, and I get an image with that. However, with this Vanguard setup, when I try to record, and error message comes up at the end of a recording session (that is when I stop recording) that says dll error with app or something like that and the thing closes on me. Then when I go to view the recording in My Images, there are major problems trying to view the recording. At least I know the recording does exist! I've also noticed that Vanguard simultaneously takes snapshots as it is recording, which I do not want! How do I get Vanguard to stop taking snapshots while recording, and how do I view the video recording?

From what I've gathered, V3.228 works with VA11A but not with VA12A.

VA12A works with V3.236 but is not backwards compatible with earlier versions.

And Vanguard and AHP don't play together.

I'll leave it up to the experts to chime in.

Thanks eagle.

I was told in these forums that the VA12A does work with v3.228!  B:(

And I do not have Vanguard and AHP on the same computer. Each is on a separate computer.

I can view my cameras with Vanguard via the VA12A. However there is virtually no recording capability. In fact, the software recording and playback function is insulting if not fraudulent. I can't believe they are selling this crap and there hasn't been a class action lawsuit yet. Or has there?

Just a thought, but have you looked at Blue Iris?   they have a 15 day trial.  Also the folks over at Ihouse are incorporating video recording with there next release which is going to be available the 15 of January and their software is FREE!  Can't get any better than that.

Your very welcome!  I've been using ihouse for about 2 weeks now and it looks very promising.  Can't wait until the video stuff comes out.  I love blue iris but I would like to have one program that does everything.
