Starting yesterday I started having wierd things go on with my X10 system. Lights are going on and off by themselves.
I am looking at the log and I see things like
Receive J17
Receive J14
Receive M13
Receive J2, etc.
All my house stuff is on B.
Also see lots of
Receive StatusRequest....probably hundred of those.
Any idea what might be going on?
I did have my old Carrier FUrnace and Honeywell Electronic Air cleaner replaced yesterday with a new Trane Furnace and air cleaner. Might they be doing something?

There does seem to be a temporal relationship, doesn't there?
People have reported problems caused by variable speed blowers in some of the newer HVAC systems. And, the electronic air cleaner may have electronic switching circuitry. The solution is to isolate the offending device with a X10 filter.

get some device to measure how many amps the device uses when on, and then pick a filterlinc or ACT af120 that can handle the load

This does remind me of a post here some years back where the electrostatic air cleaner was putting out major RF interference, possibly power line interference too.

Yep......I turned off the breaker on the furnace and the lines are quiet. It does have a variable speed furnace. I'll unplug the air cleaner and see if it clears up. In anycase, sounds like the line filter is what I need. SUre is spooky around here!

Got the filter installed in line, furnace and air cleaner running...no bogus signals! Fingers crossed for continued sucess...would sure want to turn my lights back on again!

I have a variable speed fan on my furnace too and was wondering:
- What filter did you use?
- How did you wire it in?
Thanks in advance.
