I have a Logitech Web Cam on the same computer from which I am running AHP. When I try to activate the webcam using Logitech's software (or any other webcam software for that matter), I get an error indicating that my webcam is already in use by AHP. So, I have a couple of questions:
- How do I prevent AHP from commandeering my web cam?
- Is my webcam actually viewable from within AHP? If so, how?
Thanks!

Do have any of the plug-ins for AHP? That's where the conflict comes in.
-
Well, I presume that the iWatchOut plug-in is probably the one that is hijacking my webcam. If so, what can I do to prevent that from happening?
-
So, does anyone have any thoughts on this? What are my options?

Get rid of iWatchOut or the Logitech Web Cam. If the Logitech Web Cam is fine by itself, then iWatchOut is the problem.

If I connect my web cam after AHP/iWatchOut are loaded, it works fine. So, I'll probably end up removing iWatchout since I don't plan on using it; when I start adding cameras to my system I'll probably use Vanguard, which I understand is the better software to use for security monitoring? Not sure how to remove iWatchout though; I don't seen an option to remove it from the AHP interface nor do I see it listed in my Add/Remove Programs control panel.

What version of AHP do you have? To get rid of iWatchOut you have to uninstall AHP completely. If you have 3.236, you can get it from http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/ it's there.

If I completely remove AHP won't I lose all my timers and macros? I'm currently running version 3.236.

Back up your .ahx files to a different drive or removable drive before uninstalling. BTW if you don't have a need for 3.236 you can get 3.204 from the same place, once installed it can be updated to 3.228, the last good version of AHP.

Thank you for the information and advice; I will try it out!
