Oh yes...  Star Trek fans are everywhere! The colorful ST computer screen (Library Computer Access/Retrieval System or LCARS) has shown up on videos for some time. But just recently with cheap touch screens and i devices (iphone, ipod, ipad) has the use of touchscreens become practical [affordable].

I myself use what was originally inspired by ST... Voice Commands (http://www.davesdomainonline.com/bvc/bvc.htm) (and Kirk never had it so good).

Ive used BVC before. its really cool but there is a lot of noise where i am so it doesn't work very well. I'm planing on buying a windows 7 based tablet and combined with lcarsx32 GUI shell that transforms your desktop to a working lcars station, and building a dock for it in the wall. essentially doing what the video did. so I'm looking for a way to maintain the star trek theme when I'm using x10 modules.

Sounds VERY cool.

The Nokia Internet Tablet's (N770, N800, N810) have LCARS skins....You may be able to interface it with AHP somehow..

TheTrueHannibal,

Assuming the lcarsx32 GUI shell can run Windows shortcuts and make them look lcars, you could follow my instructions in this post: http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=20344.msg114788#msg114788 (http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=20344.msg114788#msg114788) and create shortcuts to send X10 commands!   8)
