I have two ws467 switches. One works fine manually and via software, the other only manually. I've triple checked the unit and house settings and have even tried different settings. Still no luck. Any ideas?
-
are they both on the same electrical phase as the power line controller you are using?
-
Could be a phase thing as Brandt pointed out.
Could also be a power line signal problem from a noise maker or signal sucker.
Here are some generic troubleshooting links that may give you some help.

What interface and software are you using?
Regular Incadescent bulbs being controlled?
-
Don't know about the phase. I could try swapping their locations and see if it works. I have version 3.271 of the software. Just bought it. Using regular incandescent bulbs.

Sounds like you are experiencing the same weird problems with 3.271 that I started to have last week. I got my X10 backup disk out. installed 3.204 and then updated to 3.228. To do what I did, go to http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/ and look for ahp_updt_204.exe .
Save that and run it. Once it is installed, it will show "Update Available" in the right side of the screen. Click on that and it will apply 3.228.
It appears to me X10 now has released 2 buggy versions 3.236 and 3.271 in a row. Apparently the programmers at X10USA are not heavily testing what they are writing.

Swapping locations may give you some added information.
Do you have the AHP kit with the CM15A Interface or the CM19A USB RF Transmitter Receiver?
I believe 3.271 was needed for the CM19A to work with AHP.
-
it's connected via usb, it's the CM15A. I've rechecked all wiring and everything, downloaded the older version as suggested but still the one doesn't work. I think it's defective. Going to ask for a replacement.
One question I have though is... These are the three way dimmer switches, do they work on a simple light switch that turns on the porch lights or only on previous switches that were dimmer switches. Could it be that simple? Couldn't find any other switches on their web site though when I first looked.
-
Well both the CM15A and the CM19A are USB.
CM15A can have programs downloaded to is and plugs into a power outlet.
CM19A is strictly USB and is powered through the USB port. Black in color like an over sized mouse.
My only concern was if the CM19A was the interface the older AHP may not work correctly with it.

Yes. As long as they are 40W (or greater) incandescents.

Thanks Brian - confirmed it's the CM15A. Have the manual out now. I just called and got an RMA. I reread the web site and it looks like the WS467's work fine on a regular wall switch. Now if it wouldn't take another 7-10 days to get the replacement... I might be happy. :)
