Title: MS 16a to TM751 transceiver max distance?
Post by: BoyntonStu on August 08, 2010, 05:10:42 PM
Using out of the box modules, how far from each other do they reliably operate?

Have you used a wire as a passive reflector to gain distance?

Have you noticed and distance differences between send an ON and an OFF signal?

What is transmitter, a MS or Palm Pad or Keychain Remote, etc? Line of sight? Through walls? How many walls? What are walls made of? No way to answer that question from an empirical stand point. But,  line of sight, with nothing between the MS and the TM751 transceiver...>80 feet. Farther if talking about a Palm Pad which (at least at our house) out distances a xxxEye motion sensor. And less if talking the small Key Chain Remotes.
Yes.
No.

Yes distance really is determined by where the MS16A is located with reference to where the TM751 is.
Also exactly what is between the two.
Metal is a real signal killer when in between them.

The On and Off commands use the same transmitter and I would think there would be no difference distance wise between them.
