Title: Requiem for an MS16a.
Post by: bitman on August 14, 2010, 02:13:30 PM: Well after 2 rocky mountain winters and two scorching summers on my west facing deck, the MS16a that told me faithfully that my dog is back from doggy business got intermittent and is now dead. All functions seem operational except the most important motion sensing task.

Are American cars made in China now too?

Two years does seem like a short life. Was the sensor fully exposed to the weather?

In summer the afternoon sun beats right on it and at 9800 feet the sun is brutal.
We just had a bout of monsoon thunderstorms that dumped so much rain it was silly.

Then there is winter in ski country usa.

Oh well, they're like 8 buck on the bay so it's cool. >!

It's amazing how much UV pounds you at elevation.

It protects well against sunburn, and on windy days has the added benefit of super glueing hat to head. They have a new color called "Salt N Pepper - Mostly Salt" for us old geezers. :'
