I have DSL and and a PC running XP.
Will it work with my iphone and is my home computer secure?

DSL and XP are fine. It will work with your iPhone, and you'll be fine for security.
Your iPhone is fastest in WiFi mode, and your WiFi connection is secure.
Here's what we do to make your 3G connection secure. Instead of opening up a port for incoming connections, SW47 makes an outgoing connection to X10's server. Your phone also makes a connection to X10's server. X10's servers then match up the 2 connections. The match is secured by a security key. This keeps your home computer secure, since there are no open ports for someone to connect to.
In terms of security using the software, you would have to give someone a link for them to access your camera. The link contains a security key so it's not easy to guess. If you didn't want them to access your camera anymore, you could reset the security key from ActiveHome Pro and any previous links you gave out would no longer work.
