Hi, I have the AHS & CM15A package. Was using the unit for about a year without any problem. All automated On/Off Timers, Macro are running fine until today. It just suddendly stopped working. Normally I would just replace the battery and it woudl be fine. I have not changed any setup, using the same Windows 7, nothing added.. just the same old modules around the house.
My problem is that I cant control any modules from AHS and the TImer, Macros downloaded to the CM15A is also not working at all.
I noticed that the CM15A is getting hot to touch so I removed it and replug it after an hours. It heats up again. What do you think is the problem.
Thanks

Also.. when I use the AHS, then use the Clear Memory and Download to interface, it seems to do its work and I dont get any errors. I dont understand what going on with my CM15A unit. ???
Please help. :-\

If there is nothing new software or hardware wise.
Clearing the CM15As memory and downloading the programs fresh.
Don't work and the CM15A is noticeably warmer than normal or just very hot.
My thoughts are you have a hardware failure in the CM15A. Since even a power down reset didn't fix it.
You did remove the batteries when you power it off for the few hours?
If not you may want to try the power down with the batteries out, but it does sound like the CM15A may have failed.

Your CM15A is poo-poo. Running hot is usually a serious failure. Does it remain hot if you leave batteries out and disconnect USB?

Depending on when you bought it, and your warranty status, you might be able to get X10 to replace it for you.
It doesn't hurt to ask.

Noam made a good point. If you are less than a year old. The standard warranty maybe a good way to start.
If you bought the Extended optional one it should also apply.
-
omg.. you mean my CM15A is goner... B:(
:'(
yes.. i took out the battery for over 24 hours and its still the same...
I just checked... it over a year now and I dont have an extended warranty... :-[ :'( :-\

You don't have any type of X10 signal tester do you?
If you did you could see if power line signals where actually being send from the CM15A.
Also if you have any X10 remote or plug in controller. You can see if the CM15A is receiving signals by looking at the Activity Monitor.
-
You might call X10 asap. I took advantage of a VERY recent deal on a pair of CM15A's. And I do mean a deal !
-
who do I need to contact on X10 about my CM15A issues?
-
Brian, unfortunately I dont have any of those testers.. :( Ok, I wil try that and to see if the ativities works. When I press my X10 remote, it switches on/off on all my units. Its just that the AHS and CM15A doesnt work.

Is the CM15A the module transceiveing the remote commands and sending the power line signals?
-
I have a older CM15A that behaved exactly the same way!
I wish I could remember the exact steps I took to repair it. ::) :'
Also I wish I knew what caused it to stop working! :'(
I do remember it did involve the battery,USB Cable, and power removal.
It also involved several interface memory clears, one before and and after purging of delayed macros and emptying the AHP recycle bin.
In any case it has been working without a problem for years now and is now part of my cottage HA.

Sorry, i meant that my "PalmPad (HR12A)" works fine switching on/off all my modules around the house,
but the CM15A does not do anything at all. But if I tried downloaded timer/macros, it does not give me any kind of error.. I see that download bar works fine...
Tuiceman... please please please try to recall on how to get this piece of hardware to work... may I offer you a >!
