Title: 2 Pin vs. 3 Pin Appliance Modules

This might be a silly question...but what is the difference between the 2 Pin and 3 Pin Appliance modules?  What kind of appliances are 2 pin and what kind are 3 pin?  Are these just referring to the number of electric prongs on the back?

Yes. Internally they are identical with matching specs. The three pin unit simply provides a ground pass thru.

If you get the three pin. You can plug both two and three prong appliances in to it.
Only thing you have to watch. Some older homes may have two prong outlets and a three prong appliance module will not fit.

Sure it will!  You just cut the ground prong off like any other appliance.   :'
