Title: RF TO IR
Post by: alegon on April 16, 2011, 08:51:22 AM
What is the name of the module X10 which converts RF signals to IR signals ?
With it I can change a TV channel with a CM15A for example?

The UX17A will do that and AHP has suport for it However you'll have a hard time finding a new one.
The VCR Commander is also capable of doing this However x10 hasn't added those options in AHP.
Both these devices are limited to what devices they can control as X10 hasn't updated the codes.

Thats just the old commander software Dan.
And it is a pain to get it to work with anything newer then Win 98.

Then why does X10 continue to sell it?  It's still on the X10 site. Windows 98 is 12 years old.

X10 isn't selling that software!
Those are download links. Just like it still posts links to the original ActiveHome software.
I also stated it was a pain to make it work not that it was impossible. ;)

For generating IR from X10 RF I've had good luck with this product http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-X10-Home-Automation-16-IR-Device-Controller-110V-/310189583980?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4838bd6e6c from http://stores.ebay.com/Automation-at-Home .  I've used it to control automated blinds, a cable box, and a Comcast DTA via UR74A and RR501.
