Hi.
I would like to integrate my home with computer controlled "smart technology" as its been called. Following absolutely ATROCIOUS online sales rep support, I still have many questions.
I have:
-2 Lights that are currently on Dimmer Switches
-1 Ceiling Fan without a light and a "standard" off/on switch for the fan (no light)
-1 Light with a "standard" off/on switch
-1 Thermostat I would like to be able to control
-2 Standard wall plugs/outlets I would like to be able to control (in wall prefered; would rather not have something "plugged in" to an existing wall outlet.. that looks tacky)
I currently have a home server running 24x7 (windows server 2008). I would like to be able to control all of these via this computer. (Do I need to pay for software for this? What are my options if x10's server is not included/I have to pay for it - any alternatives?)
I also have an iphone I would like to be able to use to control the appliances with. Either over the same wifi or over the internet; doesn't matter that much. If it is extra $, thats fin because I can always just VNC into my server and control it that way (although a "native" solution would be prefered).
I would also possibly want a "credit card" remote depending on the price and how I can control the lights; if I can control it with my iphone without paying alot then I really don't need the remote.
Please let me know; I would like to buy from x10, but I won't unless Im sure what Im buying.. I Don't want to deal with this company if their live support is any reflection of how it treats its customers..

Additional-
I just read that this is possible using any of these devices
X10 CM11, CM12, CM15, CM17 Firecracker, CM19, or Marmitek CM15Pro device
Using the free x10 commander server software and the x10 commander app on my iphone. Will the server app also allow me to control the appliances using the PC itself?
Thanks,
NNJZ

If you get the CM15A you will get all software needed to control from local PC . The CM15A Pro is European version for 220V, 50Hz.
