Don't buy anything from x10 if u using windows 7.
I'm trying 2 days now my new camera and the old ones to install with vanguard or iwatch.
Noway!!! Look at the (Rundll32) postings and u can see that since 2/2010 x10 was not able to handle this problem.
Looks like I have to buy an windows xp computer to get my cameras working.
x10 shame on u >*<

There are plenty of people (myself included) who have been using X10 products and software with Windows 7 for quite a while with no issues.
You seem to prefer complaining about your problems, instead of asking for help with them.
If you are so unhappy with your purchase, why not just return the products you just bought, and get your money back?

I've been using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit now for over a year with all of my X10 products working fine, the only time I ever had an issue I found the solution here in the forum and it was specifically with a plugin's Dll that wasn't working. I keep expanding my system including new options, moving house etc. without any issues.

Hey boomer, over three quarters of X10 products do not even interface with a computer, so watch what you wrongfully condem in these blanket shotgun statements.

You know, when I upgraded to Windows 7, a lot of things al of a sudden didn't work right.
It sounds like a Microsoft problem to me.
X10 had no way to predict what Microsoft would do with their software years in the future. Why should everyone be forced to play catch-up when Microsoft changes the direction of the game?

That's precisely the reason why I'm still running XP here. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Ah gee! Good or bad?

You ought to see what they did with Windows 8.
From an ASK Search: The release date for Windows 8, a new version of Microsoft's Operating System, is unknown, but insiders predict it will be released in the first quarter of 2012.
Does Hawk1 have a Way-Bak Machine?

Maybe he is a beta(?).

No wayback machine, no beta tester. If you google enough for windows 8 demo you can watch them demonstrating it.

Well Jeff all good things must come to an end. I am still using XP SP3 myself.
XP support ceases on 04/18/2014. If the Widows7 Programmers blog is correct.
