Title: AHP & CM19A
Post by: tomw471 on October 24, 2011, 08:28:53 AM
How do I get AHP to recognize the CM19A? It starts up looking for the CM15A as the default.
Thanks

What revision AHP?
The CM19A according to the software history was added at 3.269
Latest is 3.318.
Automatic update still will not find it.
Manually updating is needed.

I just tried my CM19A with 3.318 and it was found fine.
No messages except XP said it found a new device and installed the driver. I had not connected the CM19A as part of the update procedure, only the CM15A.
I am thinking the CM19A was not detected as you suspect and AHP's generic error message just said CM15A.

I hope someone may have some tips for you.

You mentioned manually updating and supplied a link. Which drivers/software should I be looking for?
Thanks again

the ActiveHome Pro installer link should get you the latest AHP (3.318), and update all of your drivers and any plug-ins you might have.

I have a program called USBDeview and it shows the following.
For both the CM15A and CM19A.
Driver is x10ufx2.sys version 3.0.0.187

Do you have both the CM15A and the CM19A plugged in at the same time?
AHP can only address one of them at a time, and I'm pretty sure it will pick the CM15A if it is available.
To use the CM19A, you would need to first unplug the CM15A from the PC.

No only one at a time or even both disconnected
The program shows all known USB devices even if not presently connected. Along with connected, disconnected, can be disconnected safely.
Must read some registry stuff.

I did find one interesting thing.
I found the file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers.
It has a file version of 3.0.0.181 but if you list its properties. The file version is 3.0.0.187  :o

I've used USBDeview before, it really helped me troubleshoot a poorly designed USB-over-CAT5 extender.

From your post it wasn't clear that you were only using one at a time.

Have you tried rebooting after switching devices?
you may also want to try a different port.

I am not having any problems.
My post may have been confusing. I just wanted to point out the same driver could do both.
I can swap CM19A and CM15A with no glitches.
Not sure what tomw471s problem is, but hope we can find an answer for him.

Brian -
sorry, I mis-read the thread, and I thought that tomw471 was the one who had posted the driver versions for both the CM19A and CM15A, not you. Your post was pretty clear.
