Manuals are here:
http://www.smarthome.com/manuals/2383_web.pdf
http://www.smarthome.com/manuals/2380_web.pdf

2380 and 2383 look like two way and send commands when locally changed.
2384 seems to be one way. Receive only.
Two manuals for the 2384. The original Smartlinc Company version and the Smarthome SwitchLinc version.

Also 23?? series modules are not Insteon. They are strictly older Smarthome SwitchLinc X10 only devices.
All Insteon modules are 24?? series and Icons 28?? series.
The newly released X10 only ones that look like Icons are the X10??? series.

Switchlinc was an independent company that was bought by Smarthome about 7-8 years ago. They had made a line of premium priced X-10 compatible switches for several years and they implemented Preset Dims (32 levels) long ago. I don't think X-10 software supports Preset Dims any more but, IIRC, the Switchlincs would respond to standard dim/bright as well. My guess is that the Switchlinc's sold by Smarthome are still the original pre-Smarthome/Insteon design.

Thanks for the added information on Smartlinc being an independent company. I never knew that.
Now I know why there are two 2384 manuals on line.
The original Smartlinc company one and the Smarthome one.
