When using the hdmi, it displays fine on my tv, but it cuts off the airpad display. This makes it nearly impossible to navigate without guessing where your touching on the screen. Any way to have both the airpad and tv display like a computer would?

Nope. This is due to the design of the video chip in the unit.

You are talking about the original Airpad, AirpadP or AirpadX?

There's no way to have both displays working at the same time. The easiest solution I've found is to plug in a mouse -- I use a cheap wireless mouse with a USB dongle. It's a handy way to control movies or play games from the couch.

You would need a tablet that had dual output. This means that it can display on the screen and an external monitor at the same time.
The newer AirPad XL is an example of this.
THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF ANY PRODUCT!!
