Title: Longest rj11 run for x-10
Post by: klwilbur on January 18, 2012, 07:34:02 PM
Anyone know what the longest run of rj11 a Visonic Powermax Pro will successfully send x10 commands through to an x10 interfacemodule?

I may need to move my x10 interface module closer to my breaker box in order to overcome possible signal loss and line interference issues.  I think I currently have a 12ft cable.  I'd like to route up to 100ft of cable if possible.

Thanks,

Kelly

It's a 5V TTL signal and the X-10 spec is somewhat forgiving so some delay in rise time may not be fatal. I suspect you could get by with even longer runs but I would  test before running the cable.

And, you would be better off to run down the causes of your signal loss rather than running the long cable.
