i installed a ws4777 as single pole to control my outside lights, but I dont know how to dim it using the switch itself. I am using incandescent bulbs, and the manual makes no mention of how to dim.
Help
Thanks

If the switch is newer design (last three years or so) you should be able to dim by holding down the ON-OFF button. If the switch is old, you may not have the local dimming function. This function was added three or four years ago.

When you turn it on, does it immediately come on at full brightness, or does it "dim up" over the course of a second or two?
If it "dims up," then it is "soft start," and you can press and hold the button to dim it at the switch.
If it comes on instantly at full brightness, then it is older, and doesn't have "soft start." That means it cannot be dimmed locally at the switch.

It must be older because it doesnt do a soft start. I can dim with the remote, but not on the switch.
Damn.
thanks.
