Title: controlling pool pump

I am looking to x10 my 2.2hp pool pump. I've read that I can use the HPS2 switch and the mini timer which I have.

I am looking for a timer that allows me to program days, does it exist? You see, I dont want to run my pool pump every day, and i'd like to find an x10 timer that allows programming of days. Unlike the minitimer which runs the same programs every day.

I added an X10 address to mine and set up an On and Off timer. It did send the X10 On and Off at the correct times.
Can do 14 On times and 14 Off times. You can pick the whole week, weekend only, weekdays only or individual days for each event.

A4 is a local chime module. Timer commands monitored with my 1132CU interface.

I own 3.

The other is something similar, but mainly an X-10 controlled 40Amp relay in a metal enclosure. It's a little cheaper, and only X-10. It is here:

With X-10 HA software, you can set days hours etc and could easily run this. Without the CM-15A though, the puter would need to be on. Otherwise the timer would be a good 2nd bet. others may have other ideas, but I thik this is your best interface pairing.

what would I put @ the pump though? An hps2 switch?

it is insteon, so how do I get it to x10? You mentioned that you added x10 addresses; how did you do that?
or is there an insteon switch I can use at the pump to work with the timer you suggested? I am sure it exists. I like x10 and it's prices though.

You hold the Set Button on the side until the status LED flashes.
Then you use an X10 Controller to send the Address with an On three times.
The LED stops flashing and the addresses added.
Since it has an internal appliance style relay in it. It will also go On and Off if another X10 controller sends an command on its address.

I will look at the modules that could be used at the pump end.
The pump is 220 volts?
I can't find any information on a HPS2 switch.

An XPS2 switch, and the PTB01 bracket to install it in the existing metal Intermatic housing.
As far as my controlling the days dilemna, I can turn it on manually on the days I want it to run, and program an OFF event every day just in case.

I bought XPS3's 6 months ago for 9.99 each on ebay. Now they hit the thirty dollar mark.

Some plant somewhere in the Orient had a problem?

Yes!! X10's factory in China closed.

that explains prices.
Apparently, the PBT01 bracket mentioned in http://www.x10pro.com/pro/catalog/specialtypool.html#ptb01
is no longer being made and it's hard to find.

brian--have you had any luck coming across something to use as a switch on the pump end? I found the xps2, but I cant confirm if it will work with my 2.2hp pump; the hp load will not work with certain switches.

A few of the on line vendors found, through Google. Say 20 Amps 2.0 HP.
So would 2.2HP be too large. I don't know. Most electrical devices have a built in safety margin.

Have you tried a search for X10Pro PTB01? I thought one of the vendors didn't say out of stock or discontinued.
