Are there any recommended thermostats to use with the x10 set back controller?
I found my temperature sensor/RTD in my thermostat. It's located on the top and does not sense the heat from the set back.
I have two options. Look around for a more suitable thermostat or disassemble the set back, use the resistors in the set back and try to install them inside my thermostat. (DANGER Will DANGER). ;D They get HOT!!!

I have a setback arrangement under my Honeywell TH5000 themostat and it works very well. Only use it in the Winter though.....

Maybe a Honeywell will work. I don't even see a brand name on mine.

These days a digital display, 7-day programmable thermostat goes for like 30 bucks in Lowes.
It would be silly to replace the thermostat with a manual one to program the setback with x10...
I understand the ability to remotely login, have events trip the thermostat, just sayin'. :'

Maybe you could construct a "heat pipe" around the X10 set back, and up to your thermostat to contain and channel the heat. Like a cut down shoebox or similar. Paint it with your wall paint or put a picture of the dog over it? Otherwise your idea of remoting the heater resistors from the X10 setback to your regular thermostat is good, :)% but they may need some "position tweeking" to prevent over driving the thermistor in the thermostat.

A heat pipe. -:) That sounds like something I can try. I have some tubing. Maybe get it to touch the top resistor and let the heat travel up and through. Might give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks!
