Title: Bypass System
Post by: cornelb on June 21, 2012, 08:06:24 PM
Hi There,

I am a brand new user of the X10 products and so far I am very happy. I have setup a very basic system for my parents since they live OS at the moment so all it does is turns some lamps on/off at different times at night. The question I have is there a way to bypass the system to be able to manually turn the lights on/off from the lamp for when other family come and stay at the house. Turning on/off at the wall to bypass is not ideal since many of the power points are behind beds and bookcases, and people will forget to put it back the way it was.

Thanks guys

Since you are using AHP the interface is either a CM15A or a CM19A with TM751.
You can get a wireless remote that either the CM15A or TM751 can receive commands from and turn X10 devices On and Off.
The HR12A can do all sixteen Unit Codes for one House Code. They also make smaller keyfob types that can do 2 or 4 Unit Coded in a row.

There are also AC powered controllers that you could place on a table.
Only thing is availability of many X10 devices. X10 has changed their business model and many of the devices are now marked discontinued. I believe the 8 Unit Code {1-8} Mini-Controller is still available. The 16 button Maxi-controller I believe is gone but a few dealers may still have a few.

Or a CM11.
