Title: ipcamsetup? - Can't see xx39A camera in SearchIPCam.exe
Post by: irethedo on April 07, 2013, 07:55:00 AM
Just got my xx39A cameras today and am having problems setting these up.
I'm running Win XP SP3 32 bit.

Have one tried 1 camera and it is powered on and wired to my router.
The green light is on and the yellow light is flashing but  the Search IP Camera Tool does not
show any cameras in its list
.

The IPCamSetup.exe mentioned in the manual does not exist on the Install CD as stated.
My laptop is dynamically connected to my router with DHCP so I can not see its IP address
but I can connect to my router with my browser and see its settings.

How do I get the software to see this camera?

Is there some sort of driver or some other software that allows me to configure this camera or some sort of settings that I need to type in somewhere?

Please advise

thank you

Thanks Brian-

That link gives the following info:

If there are no cameras listed, check the firmware version to see if it starts with 17.*.*.*.

How do I check this?

If the firmware version is correct, and there is still no cameras listed, maybe your computer’s IP address doesn’t match with the camera’s IP address, or they are not in the same LAN. Change your computer’s IP address to the same LAN as your camera’s.

My computer is set up dynamically via DHCP-

1. how do I change the LAn for my DHCP PC?
2. how do I find what the camera's IP address is?
I only have its mac address...

Also I went to http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=26892.0
which instructed me to download :
ftp.x10.com/pub/applications/airsight/XX39Ainterfacesoft.zip

but the notes say:

THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON THE XX39A, WHICH IS LABELED XC39A ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAMERA.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THIS UPDATE ON ANY OTHER MODEL.

my camera is a xx39A but does not have a label with xc39A

seems like I am missing something here

The first thing i would do would reboot my computer/ router / modem and try the search again.

This comment is a problem i had early in my setup..which may only been unique to my setup but it happen and it won't hurt to check.

The Dvm_IPcam.ocx was not installed correctly on the disk drive
 (Local disk>windows>system32>scroll to find Dvm_IPcam.ocx)

You can open your disk and follow the path above to see if it was install there. It may have been installed somewhere else and if so, you may have to copy n paste it in the correct files.

The Dvm_IPcam.ocx does not appear to be on my PC.

Where does this come from and where can I get a copy of it?
