I have a backup CM15A that I haven't used with AHP before. I am currently testing a 3rd party software as a potential replacement for AHP and this second CM15A wasn't transceiving all the house codes. I just tried to connect it to my HA PC in place of my main interface and AHP was complaining that the new one was not connected. I simply swapped one unit for the other in the outlet and moved the USB cable over, yet the backup does not detect. Do I have to install batteries for it to detect? I know it functions without batteries, but are they needed to use with AHP?
FWIW, I tried installing batteries and it did no detect. I bought this CM15A used and did not test it, so I wonder if for some reason it is not functioning?

I used this information to understand that I just need to wait for some reason.

After a few minutes, I plugged the CM15A back in, added batteries, and restarted the PC. It programmed correctly this time. Hopefully this will get the other software going!

Which software are you testing - Is it one of the many current options, or is this something new?

It's not a complete option without doing coding of some kind yet, but it has a really nice C# scripting language to work with. The big thing is that it works on Raspberry Pi, open source, works with multiple interfaces out of the box, includes real scripting (not through a flaky SDK), and it has pretty good response from the author.
