Title: What is WS467 date code 1I37?
Post by: mark_sd on March 22, 2016, 11:35:19 PM
I bought a WS467 switch on eBay because it said SOFT START in bold letters. It is not soft start.  B:(

Most references to the date code, including on this page http://kbase.x10.com/wiki/SoftStart refer to TWO numbers before this letter. This module has a date code of 1I37, only ONE number before the letter. What does that mean? 1991? 2001? If it's any help, the enclosed registration card is to be returned to X10 (USA), Northvale, NJ. According to this history http://home.planet.nl/~lhendrix/x10_history_english.htm, X10 (USA) wasn't formed until 1984 so this must be after that.

I have not seen an official Date Code paper.
My thoughts are 1991
I have some era 2000 X10 modules and they all have two digits, a letter, two digits.
Including a few CM15A with a 04J41 codes I got around 2004
I have a few BSR (USA) X10-HD243 modules. They have one number, letter, two numbers. 2J42. I am thinking 1982 for these.

Since Soft Start was introduced in 2007. Even if your 1I37 was 2001 it is still too old for Soft Start.

Thanks. Returning this one. Still looking for a late-model WS467 or PLW01 in ivory...
